I found the perfect super large pot for our Dwarf Eureka Lemon tree at Lowes, thankfully it was on clearance. We got the large pit for only $14 bucks! It's made of plastic, but resembles stone, so much easier on our backs if we move it when it starts getting larger. I also picked up a 'Petite Butterfly' plant and bought the medium size version of the large pot too. I love how much color they both add to our house & look great with our chartreuse front door.
For now the tree is placed under our mailbox, but doesn't interfere with dropping the mail off, so it will stay out for now and then as it grows we'll move it further down.
We got such a good deal on these pots, I went back and bought two more medium size pots to step on our step outside our french doors.
Even though were still lacking grass in our front yard & back, hopefully our front door feels more welcoming! Do you have any fruit trees growing in containers around your house?

I'd love a lemon tree!
ReplyDeleteHopefully no one will steal yours--my great Aunt's trees were stolen every single year, right off her patio! We had planters taken from our porch, so we bought the heaviest pots you can imagine from then on out. And we considered putting lead bricks inside them!
How awful for your Aunt!! I can't believe people just don't feel bad about stealing other peoples property, its really sad. In the past we've had simple pots with just flowers in them and they were fine so crossing my fingers no one will steal our lemon tree! That would just suck :(
DeleteI love it!! I'm going to check them out because I'd love a lemon tree! Lemons are great for so many things so it would be nice to have one at home :)
ReplyDeleteOur local Home Depot & Lowes had a ton to choose from and they all ranged around $22 bucks so not bad at all!! Crossing my fingers ours will thrive and produce fruit! :)
DeleteLooks good! I've always wanted a lemon tree in a pot and awhile back that was all I pinned! Hope yours gets enough sun on the porch!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Hi There!! We get full sun on our front porch, lets hope its not too much sun! I read somewhere that the lemon tress in a containers love water, so I'll be watering mine a lot :) You should treat your self to a Lemon Tree, right now is the perfect time to get a huge pot on the cheap :)
DeleteWe've been thinking of doing this too but with a finger lime tree. Your photos look so cute I may go do it next weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ally, we'd love to also have Dwarf Lime & Orange trees, if our Lemon tree does well, we're going to go for it! Those ones will be on out patio in our backyard :)
DeleteI totally wish we could grow lemon trees in our area. Looks great in the new pot too!
ReplyDeleteI wish!!
