I was super happy when I came home and saw that my Flor Tile Samples arrived yesterday!! Getting packages in the mail always make my days happier.
Flor Rug Style, Option One: Heaven Sent
Flor Rug Style, Option Two: Made You Look
The top two samples are in the Flor style: Heaven Sent, colors: Titanium & Bone. Bottom samples are in Flor style Made You Look, colors: Bright White & Grey
I really liked both Flor rug options for Avery's room, but I'm mostly drawn to option number one. I love that its cushy underfoot, it has a nice texture and love hot well the grey titanium shade looks with the creamy bone white. I'm also in love with how option one looks with our hardwood floors. Below is a lilac & purple shade strip rug, call me in love!! I love that each floor rug tile is so large.

For now, we've decided to go with a 5x7 rug options which means buying 12 tile, but I'm stilling considering buying 16 tiles, just need to map out the size in his bedroom one more time. I'm planning on having the stripes lay horizontal when you walk in his bedroom. Each tile is $14, and of course the style I plan on ordering isn't on sale right now, but the Made You Look style is [ 20% off!! ]
One thing, I really like about using Flor tiles is the ease of cleaning up spills, just rinse off in the sink, perfect for kiddos. I'm also excited that I can add in new tiles anytime, if I feel the rug isn't big enough, talk about a plus! I'm super excited about ordering Avery's Flor rug!! I also just spied a pretty pattern, that I'm considering using in our laundry room which does double duty as our soon to be mudroom.
Are you considering using Flor Rug Tiles in your home?

I've always been curious as to how these look in real life (as opposed to like magazine photos). Especially in regards to the seams and what not
ReplyDeleteHi Chelsea :) I really like how the seam in 'Heaven Sent' meets each tile, it gives it feeling for more expense rug with depth. I also liked how the 'Made You Look' tiles are full of texture, meaning you can have them lay in various ways and it adds so much visual interest - but not as a comfy and dense felt more like what would work well in an 'office, library, hallway, laundry' etc
DeleteI use to see Candice Olson use these on her show when we had cable but never known anyone who has used them. I am curious to find out how they hold up seam wise like Miss Chelsea.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've read online & my own experience using a small 3x5 during Halloween (boy do I miss that rug!!) they stay together perfectly on hard surfaces. I'm curious how it will hold up with my little guy playing all over it! :) Hopefully just fine :) I'm also considering this for our laundry room & Tabari's bedroom.
DeleteOh check out Elements of Style blog, Erin used the Flor tiles wall to wall in our mudroom and they so nice!!!
I have had Flor tiles and their look is great but I do have to say with 4 cats and 2 kids the ones that I selected were dirt magnets and I have to vacuum them non-stop. Not much fun :(
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I love this! Perfect for my little apartment :)
ReplyDeleteAlso perfect for my three crazy animals and their messes..
Kitten had an accident? No biggie, just toss the tile and pop in a new one!
:D
We have the Flor carpet tiles in one room and like them very much. We went with the Fedora style in a walnut/cayenne/brick/chartreuse pattern that we laid out ourselves.
ReplyDeleteIn theory, I’d love to have bare floors for total ease of clean-up, especially with a small flock of parrots freely patrolling the house for much of the day. In practice, getting them refinished hasn’t been the highest priority in our household budget.
