Trading Places

Over the weekend, my husband and I were in Z Gallerie looking for some accessories for our bedroom. I came across a pretty water colored vase. It's a pretty shape and large for the price { $ 14.99 } I was thought it would look great on our newly painted dresser or somewhere else. I got it home and it didn't feel quite right in our bedroom.

Vase on the dresser

Then placed the vase in our dining room. The light blue water looked amazing with the dark stain of our table.

Most of the time we have a branch candle holder on the table, instead of tucking the candle holder away, I placed it in our bedroom.

Whne I'm our shopping for items for our home, I try to imagaine the accessorie in more then just one place. I like doing this because it keeps our home looking fresh. Another great thing to swap along with accessories is art. Sometimes moving art around your home keeps things fresh. I've done this with art in out living room. In case you wondering why there's a pillow on the floor, its actailly Mojo's new bedding.

Do accessories and art trade places in your home?

  1. I looove Z Gallerie! That vase is so cute - I could totally see that in our guest room now that I've re-painted it!

I do the switcheroo sometimes with our accessories and it's definitely cheaper than going out and buying something new every time you need a change! :)

  2. We do this all the time! I actually just got that blue vase in a larger size and it is in our living room. I wanted to tell you that you have inspired me to redo our basement in taupe, yellow (!!!) and aqua..

  3. Lauren, I loved the larger vase too - its such a pretty color :) Looking forward to seeing it in your living room.

Very cool, I'm glad our living room inspired you, yellow is so a fun color paired with the taupe’s and aqua’s.

  4. Pretty! I personally really like grouping vases, either with another vase, or with a candle or candle holder -- sometimes helps with making it "fit" -- I like having two or three different heights. The glass items usually look best in places with lots of light, like near a window, whereas a lacquer or opaque vase looks great in low-light areas... now you need some floral! (that one looks great with a spray of small orchids in white...)

  5. I definitely think that it looks better in the dining room! And that branch candle holder is so cute!

Please don't finish your bedroom before I finish mine:-)

  6. Designdroid - I agree I love groupings they always look so nice. Since our table is so small - it will likely just have the vase on it, and I love your idea of white Orchids! :)

Mrs. Duncan - you have me cracking up! lol
