I enjoy going to the farmers market and Saturday mornings with my family. Nothing beats buying your fruit, vegetables and flowers local farm fresh. In California we have Certified Farmers Market in every county! I always have a smile on my face while I'm searching for produce or other goodies. The farmers market in Northern California that we attend sell more then fruit and veggies. Here's a quick list of items they sell: cheese, eggs, extra virgin Olive oil, in season fruit, in season veggies, nuts, lavender, flowers and more! We stalked up on Asparagus, it's one of my favorite veggies, we usually grill it on the BBQ. Last night I made Asparagus and Mushroom Quiche with a side veggie salad it was yummy.

I couldn't take my eyes off all the lovely flowers. There were so many tulips in all different colors, I really like the deep plum ones.

According to Section 114350 (d) of the California Health & Safety Code, no Dogs Allowed, so Mojo had to stay home.

We have a local farmers market in our city and I love going there! It's just a refreshing feeling!

I am absolutely JEALOUS of your farmer's market!! I would have been stocking up on those artichokes! The things that make it out to TN are pitiful. Better for a dried wreath than to eat - that's for sure!. A goodly amount of the asparagus would have come home with me too.

Teri - I'm dissapointed your Local Farmers Market is lacking fresh stuff, hopefully over time it will improve.

they have some markets here, but they are NOTHING like the ones in CA and NY! oh, how i miss that good stuff! one of my favorite memories with my dad was going to the farmers market in nyc and buying fresh apple cider.

as i side note, not sure if they have a JoAnn's where you are, but i was in there over the weekend and noticed that they have sewing and knitting classes. i immediately thought of you! if you want to learn in a class environment, you should check them out.

Dayka - I've often dreamed of grocery shopping in NYC or somewhere in Europe, all those open markets are amazing.

Ahh, how sweet of you to think of me, there is a Joann's near me, I'm go to pop in one day this week and get some information of knitting classes.

I have never been to a farmer's market before, but we promised ourselves that we would frequent it a bunch this summer!.... seeing your post makes me super excited to go!

My friend took me to the farmers market and I was like overwhelmed! I mean, WOW it was busy! I'd love to go back now that I know what to expect.

I love our farmers market but our local one has not opened for the season yet....so I am so jealous of your pics. Those flowers are gorgeous!

I so can't wait until our farmers market opens up. I love fresh veggies and fruit. PS- Those flowers were fabulous!
