I really like the Big Arc Dipper floor lamp from CB2, I would love this for our living room. I just don't see that happening though its $199.00. So I've been stalking the Internet hoping to find its cheaper just as cute cousin. I found its pricier older sister at Crate and Barrel but Meryl's $299.00 she also has a gray marble base.

I also saw some versions of the Big Dipper at Lamps Plus, but there all just as spendy. So I'm adding the Big Dipper to my wish list in hopes Ikea are Target will make the cute cheaper cousin. If Target and Ikea don't come though for me, I'll have to start a lamp fund....
Target had that lamp at one point! I think Janell used it in a room maker over she did for a client! Oh, and the one from C&B is beautiful in person!!!

Buy it! I got the Pottery Barn 'pharmacists' floor lamp for $199 and it is the bomb. I say invest more $ in core items like lighting, rugs and furniture, and scrimp on pillows, wall decor and other accessories. A nice light is worth it! A cheap light will only be replaced faster and that just diminishes your savings. Especially for that particular lamp, could you imagine a cheaply made one? It would probably fall over because the metal was thin and not supportive enough. All the floor lamps I've gotten at Target were cheaply made and I don't use any of them anymore. Just my thoughts!

ReplyDeleteYou are so thrifty and creative that I think you deserve to treat yourself. But I do wonder if there is a DIY solution out there? Or am I just crazy? I'm crossing my fingers and sending positive thoughts your way that you'll find the absolute perfect version of this for your home! It really is to die for!
